Where To Find The Silkspeed Anklets (Speedrun Strategy)

0

The original Hollow Knight was a game known for its sequence-breaking potential and its hard but fair gameplay mechanics that rewarded experimental play, which is perhaps why it garnered and still boasts such a strong speedrunning community.

It seems that the successor, Hollow Knight Silksong, seems keen to offer the same to returning and new players alike, with a speedrunning achievement baked into the game’s trophy list, and a vast world that begs to be explored, but can easily be cleared in under five hours.

If you’re serious about achieving the feat of speedrunning excellence, then you’ll need to locate the Silkspeed Anklets, as they are guaranteed to speed up your run. However, first you’ll need a particular skill, and then you’ll need to know where to find them.

Prerequisites Needed To Find Them

I could tell you where these fashionable little anklets are, but it would be of no use to you unless you’ve reached a certain point in the game and have cleared a certain boss fight.

Players will first need to beat Moorwing to gain access to Bellhart. Then they will need to explore Mosshome, defeat Sister Splinter, and learn the Wall Cling ability. Then, finally, the player will need to take on Widow and beat them to learn the Needolin skill.

After this, you will be able to press triangle/Y to play music at the cost of some silk. Which not only sounds lovely, but has the power to open certain doors within the game.

Where To Find the Silkspeed Anklets

The Silkspeed Anklets are located in Far Fields, in an area that can be accessed right when you first visit the Seamstress to learn your glide ability. But, without Needolin, you won’t be able to get into this room.

Simply head right of the Seamstresses’ area and keep following the lower path to the right until you reach a black door.

Play your Needolin, and this will open the door, granting you access to the Weavenest Cindril.

Once inside, you’ll need to light all the lights inside, which is less of a puzzle and more of an exercise that has you run up and down the hall twice. Do this, and the Silkspeed Anklets will appear on a plinth before you.

What Do The Silkspeed Anklets Do?

These Anklets are a yellow-coded tool, which means you will likely need to run around with no compass equipped. Which is a burden for those that don’t know the map, but is a small price to pay for tenured speedrunners.

You see, this item allows you to run much faster when holding R2/RT to sprint, at the cost of some silk as you run. It means you need to be constantly refilling your silk, but if you can keep it topped up, you’ll be moving like lightning through Pharloom.
