All Glider Pals & Their Specialties
Each Glider Pal in Palworld has unique differences in just how they glide. This guide breaks down their distinct specialties.
Palworld has many ways you can traverse the numerous islands. This can involve using special tools like a Glider or a Grappling Gun, or even mounting one of the game’s many Pals so that you can ride on it. These Pals can allow you to travel on the ground, over water, and even fly through the air. However, some will let you use them as an alternative to replace the Glider item if they’re in your party.
Palworld: How To Get Lovander
Lovander is a great Pal to keep around your base in Palworld. This guide details where to catch it, how to breed it, and why it’s so useful.
You will encounter Pals that offer all manner of different Partner Skills. Some of these will be activated manually, while others will work in the same way Passive Skills operate. One such type of skill will be using a Pal that is in your party as a Glider substitute.

All Glider Pals & What Makes Them Special
When you put a Pal into your Party that you can use as a Glider, it will also offer you something special about using that Pal over any of the others. You should equip the Pal you like the most for the best results in traversing the game’s many areas. Using the Pal Condenser to get more stars will increase the effectiveness of each of these Partner Skills. If you wish to have a stronger combat presence, then you may want to consider having a Party of your 5 best Pals and using a Glider Key Item instead.

Pal Name |
Partner Skill Name |
Description |
Pal Location |
|---|---|---|---|
|
Killamari |
Fried Squid |
This Partner Skill will let you glide for the longest duration compared to any other Pal glider. This can be particularly useful for clearing very long gaps. |
Killamari can be caught in numerous dungeons throughout the game. The easiest option would be to turn around and head down the stairs at the very start of the game. Following this path all the way down to thebeach will lead you to a dungeon where you can get this Pal very early on. This Pal can also be hatched from any regular-sized Dark egg that you may have found while out exploring the game. |
|
Celaray |
Zephyr Glider |
This Partner Skill will let players move faster than any other Pal being used as a glider. This makes it a great defensive option for getting out of the way fast, but also for providing some extra speed while traveling around the map. |
No matter which of the starting locations you choose, Celarays will spawn along the the coasts of where these islands connect. It is very likely you will encounter this Pal without even needing to look for one. Both Celaray gloves and Killamari gloves appear very early on in the Technology tab as unlockable options due to how early on you can encounter these Pals. Celaray can also be hatched from a regular-sized Damp egg that you may have found while out exploring the map. |
|
Galeclaw |
Galeclaw Rider |
This Partner Skill lets you use a gun while you are gliding. This can allow you to stay on the offensive, even while gliding, as a means of avoiding incoming damage. This will be incredibly useful for Boss Towers that have timers to be cautious of. |
Galeclaw does not spawn on any of the starting location Islands, and instead will spawn throughout the Bamboo Grove and Moonless Shore islands of the game. This Pal will be easier to find at a distance compared to these other Pals, as it will be flapping in the air. Galeclaw can also be hatched from a regular-sized Common egg that you may have found while out exploring the map. |
|
Hangyu |
Flying Trapeze |
Using this Pal while gliding will actually make you rise up higher as you glide instead of getting closer to the ground. This is truly amazing for getting over terrain that drains your climbing stamina. However, it means you will need to deploy it just before hitting the ground, and then canceling it, if you wish to land safely from a high distance. Being unfamiliar with how to use this Partner Skill effectively can result in many fall deaths. It is also not as effective as having a dedicated flying mount. One of the biggest benefits of using this Pal is that you can use your entire Stamina bar, while others may end early due to touching down on the ground. This can mean using Hangyu can get you even farther than if you had used Killamari — but at the risk of being too high up, and taking a significant amount of fall damage. |
Out of all these Pals, Hangyu and its variant Hangyu Cryst will almost always be the last ones you get your hands on. For Hangyu, it is due to it being in both of the game’s desert areas. The Twilight Dunes will not be safe for beginners, and the Desicated Dessert is even worse. You will want a strong Grass Pal by your side when venturing into either of these areas. Hangyu can also be hatched from a regular-sized Rocky egg that you may have found while out exploring the map. |
|
Hangyu Cryst |
Winter Trapeze |
Not many Pal variants have the same Partner Skill as their counterparts, Hangyu Cryst’s Partner Skill may have a different name from its counterpart, but it functions identically. |
Hangyu Cryst is the hardest of all these Pals to obtain, as it makes the Astral Mountains its home. It also has a seemingly harder capture rate compared to its Ground-type counterpart. Hangyu Cryst can also be hatched from a regular-sized Frozen egg that you may have found while out exploring the map. |
