How To Romance Aerith
Aerith is one of Cloud’s friends and someone who loved Zack once upon a time. She can be romanced by Cloud in the game and is the person that a lot of fans think is canonically who Cloud is in love with. If you want to romance her, you will need to raise Cloud’s affinity with her. In order to do this, you will need to do the following activities:
- Completing quests with Aerith
- Having conversations with Aerith
- Using Synergy Skills with Aerith
- Completing certain events with Aerith
How To Check Relationship Status
In order to check your relationship status with your companions, all you need to do is hit L1 while you aren’t in combat. You will see a face above their heads and it will be a specific color, indicating your relationship with that person.

Aerith Gold Saucer Date
Once you finally make it to the Gold Saucer Date, you will have one of two options if Aerith is your companion for the night. If you have a higher affinity score with her than anyone else, she will be the one you go on a date with. If your affinity is high enough, she will tell you that at first, she thought you were so much like Zack. However, she now knows she wants to be with just you. This is the romantic version of the date. If your affinity isn’t high enough, Aerith and Cloud will go on the date but it will be more of a casual thing as friends rather than a date as partners.
