- FromSoftware apologized for congestion, considering adding an extra network test session.
- The game’s release may include DLC with added characters and bosses, coming May 30.
In case you didn’t know, the first Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test kicked off today, though players had more time fighting off server goblins than actual enemies.
Those on PS5 who did manage to play, consider yourselves lucky. Most players on the platform ran into server problems right from the get-go. It was so bad that FromSoftware had to apologize on social media.

Elden Ring Nightreign’s First Network Test Off Doesn’t Go As Planned
On Twitter/X, the official Elden Ring Twitter/X account announced the PlayStation servers were having issues due to maintenance. This was a major problem given the test had a limited three-hour window wherein players can login and test the game.
Apparently, the issue plaguing the test was congestion. The FromSoftware account apologized to players, stating (via machine translation), “Currently, the ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN game server is congested, and it is difficult to match. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please try matching again after a while. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to all players.”
Given the server issues, FromSoftware mentioned they are considering an additional Network Test session. There‘s no confirmation whether this will push through or not, though we should know that soon.

Aside from today, there are two more days for the test planned:
- Session 1: Feb 14th, 3am to 6 am PT
- Session 2: Feb 14th, 7pm to 10 pm PT
- Session 3: Feb 15th, 11am to 2pm PT
- Session 4: Feb 16th, 3am to 6 am PT
- Session 5: Feb 16th, 7pm to 10 pm PT
Hopefully, FromSoftware adds an extra day or two, or better yet, just make it longer than three hours for every session.
While the game is not out yet, its Steam page accidentally leaked DLC plans, which include added characters and bosses.
Elden Ring Nightreign will be released on May 30 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
