FromSoftware Site Hints At Anime Adaptation Of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
A new website domain registration is hinting that another FromSoftware property is being adapted to the screen, with one of its biggest games of all time being turned into an anime.
While the Souls games and their cousins are known for their mysterious stories that leave a lot unanswered, this doesn’t mean FromSoftware isn’t open to expanding the lore. Indeed, an Elden Ring live-action movie is on the way, and that will almost certainly offer new tidbits of information about The Lands Between.
It might not just be Elden Ring that’s getting the adaptation treatment, as users on ResetEra have discovered that a website for a Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice anime was registered at the end of July 2025. This is a strong indication that a Sekiro anime is in the works.
Everything Known About The Rumored Sekiro Anime
The domain listing was registered by Kadokawa, the media conglomerate that owns tons of properties and studios, including FromSoftware. There have been rumors circulating regarding a Sekiro anime for years, and if a website is being made, then it must be nearly ready to be shown publicly, as it’s being created for publicity purposes.
Of all of the FromSoftware properties, Sekiro is easily the best choice for a screen adaptation. The fact that it has an established protagonist and an overarching story involving actual characters and not just big, spooky monsters means that it’s easier to weave a narrative out of the existing pieces.
The bigger question is when the Sekiro anime will be revealed, assuming that it’s legit? Gamescom is a few weeks away, while the Tokyo Game Show is due to happen in September. Either event would be a great place to unveil a Sekiro adaptation, especially as FromSoftware has other things to promote, like the Elden Ring port on the Nintendo Switch 2.
