In today’s world of email overload, it’s easy to lose track of older emails. Archiving is a great way to keep emails organised and out of the inbox, while also being easily accessible when necessary. However, the process of archiving emails in bulk can be a tedious one, especially when you have hundreds or thousands of emails to archive. That’s why Damson Cloud are proud to announce a brand new feature that makes it easier than ever to archive emails in bulk using Gmail!
The “Send and Archive” button in Gmail allows you to automatically send outgoing messages to an archive folder, making it even easier to keep your inbox clean. This week, Noelle Kerr, our spooky resident email expert at Damson Cloud, will walk you through how to bulk archive emails on Gmail using this new feature.
In order to use the gmail enterprise account bulk-archive feature, you will need to create a custom archiving profile. To do this, click on the Archive icon in your inbox and select “Create Archiving Profile”. On the next page, you will need to enter a name for your new archive profile. For example, you can enter a name such as “Archive Conversations”. On the following pages, you will need to select where the archived emails will go. For example, you can choose to archive them to a specific folder on your computer or external storage device. You can also set a timeout, meaning how long you want the archived emails to be kept before they are deleted from your inbox.

When creating an email archiving profile, you can also choose to have the emails downloaded with their original file formats. This is particularly useful if you want to store emails in a hard drive for future reference or if you need to access them for legal reasons. Once you have created your archiving profile, it will be saved under the Saved Profiles tab, and can be run immediately or automatically (as per the settings that you choose).
Once you have archived your emails in bulk on Gmail, they will remain available in All Mail, although they will no longer be displayed in your inbox. When you need to access a message from an archived email, you can move it back to your inbox by selecting the email and clicking the Inbox icon.
Archiving your email conversations in Gmail is an effective strategy for decluttering your inbox and improving your productivity. It’s much more beneficial than deleting the emails altogether, as you can still easily access them in the future when needed.
