Saber Reaffirms They Aren’t Abandoning Space Marine 2 for Part 3; Upcoming Details Revealed
Summary
- Space Marine 3 won’t end support for Space Marine 2
- Saber CEO prefers hiring outside the US
- Space Marine 2 Patch 7 to bring new DLC in April
Just a few weeks ago, Saber Interactive announced that its latest game, Warhammer 40:000: Space Marine 2, was getting a sequel aptly titled Space Marine 3. This wasn’t a surprise given Space Marine 2 had been a runaway success for Saber, publisher Focus Home Entertainment, and license holder Games Workshop.
While confirmation of a sequel is good news, some were worried that this could mean support for Space Marine 2 was winding down so Saber could focus entirely on Space Marine 3. Thankfully, that won’t be the case.

Saber Won’t Be Shifting Personnel From Space Marine 2 To Space Marine 3
In the latest community update by Saber, the studio reiterated that just because the sequel is in development, that they’re dropping support for Space Marine 2.
“So let us set the record straight: Space Marine 3 does not mean the end of Space Marine 2’s development. Far from it. No teams are shifting over, no one is abandoning the game, and our plans to bring more awesome content to Space Marine 2 remain. We are working on much more content and surprises for the months to come, such as a new class, more operations, melee weapons, and more! Trust us, there are surprises even dataminers haven’t found out about,” states the studio.
Saber once again reminds people that Space Marine 3 is “years away from release,” and the announcement just means they have started the process of developing it.
Keeping in line with the confirmation of support, Saber has also talked about the next major update hitting Space Marine 2 in April.
