You Can Buy The Infamous Switch 2 Stapler, For A Good Cause
Last month, during the Switch 2’s launch, buyers found their new consoles damaged by retailer GameStop out of the box, and it was due to a stapler.
While most companies would want to forget about this as soon as possible, GameStop wants to make something out of this fiasco, but it’s for a good cause.

Outside Japan, Sony viewed Nintendo as targeting a “different audience.”
This now-infamous stapler is being auctioned off, and it’s to benefit a children’s charity.
Switch 2 Staplegate To Benefit Children’s Charity
GameStop isn’t just auctioning off the stapler, but there’s also a “Certificate of Authenticity” for the office supply, and the winning bid will get the stapler, which GameStop notes, “Features authentic field-use wear throughout and retired immediately from service, the stapler now stands as a retail legend born from a half-second decision.”
The company will also include the first stapled Nintendo Switch 2 console, and to prove it is the stapled device, GameStop has provided its serial number “HAW50270415462.” The screen has been repaired and it’s ready for play. It’s said to be the first console to be officially stapled during a product launch at GameStop.
Currently, the stapler is up on eBay, and at the time of this writing, it has over 178 bids with the amount now exceeding $105,000!
The proceeds of the auction will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, so if you’re interested in owning a piece of GameStop memorabilia and helping a worthy cause, now is your chance.

Porting takes time, and dev kits.
While GameStop is often in the news for all the wrong reasons, I have to admit, this is a nice move by the retailer to not only milk the situation and gain more attention, but to benefit a good cause too.
When it comes to Switch 2 news that’s actually about the console and its games, Nintendo seems to have accidentally revealed a bunch of Nintendo 64 games that are headed to Switch Online. There’s also a highly-requested feature said to be headed to the console, though it’s from an unofficial source.
But possibly the best bit of news for the Switch 2 this week? For me, it’s how Switch 2 scalpers are now losing money thanks to Nintendo’s little way of making these parasites’ lives a lot harder. Hopefully, this deters future scalpers from doing something like this again with Nintendo products.
