Hollow Knight Silksong Gets A Balancing Patch After Difficulty Complaints
The first Hollow Knight: Silksong patch has been released, and while it has its fair share of bug fixes, it also reduces the game’s overall difficulty, both in terms of battle and acquiring items.
Hollow Knight: Silksong infamously kept fans waiting six years from announcement to release, with the developers working hard that entire time to create a worthy successor to Hollow Knight. While it spent a long time in the oven, the game did launch with bugs, and not the ones with spears and swords.
There have been complaints made by fans about Hollow Knight: Silksong’s difficulty, especially early on. Team Cherry has announced on Steam that it has released a patch for the game on PC for those who access the Steam public beta branch, with other platforms set to receive it soon, which will make the game easier.

Outside of bug fixes, the big changes in the patch include making Moorwing and Sister Splinter easier, as well as reducing the damage from Sandcarvers. The price of Bellway and Bell Benches has been reduced, while Rosary rewards from relics and psalm cylinders have been increased. There are also increased rosary rewards for courier deliveries.
This update will be a godsend for people who are struggling with Hollow Knight: Silksong. It helps for people to have completed the original Hollow Knight before jumping into Silksong, but with all of the hype surrounding the game, some are jumping ahead and being unprepared for the brutal difficulty.
Modders have already beaten Team Cherry to the punch, with unofficial updates that make the game easier. It seems there’s a hunger to make Hornet’s journey a bit easier, especially in the early game, when players are still getting used to her different control scheme.
