Battlefield 6 Playtest Is Back With Changes Tomorrow

If you’re a shooter fan, chances are you’ve played last week’s first Battlefield 6 Open Beta phase. If you want more of what you played, DICE is bringing it back tomorrow on Thursday, August 14, for the second week of the Open Beta!

Not only are we getting another weekend of Battlefield 6, but DICE is also rolling out a new map and new modes to keep the action fresh.

Before the second weekend of the Open Beta kicks off, the studio has released the schedule of modes we can expect during the testing phase.

Battlefield 6 Open Beta Weekend 2 Playlists Breakdown

The big new addition this week is the map Empire State, which will join the Weekend 1 maps Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak, and Iberian Offensive.

When it comes to modes, expect Rush to be introduced.

  • Day 1, Thursday 14th

    • Conquest
    • Rush
    • Attack & Defend (Breakthrough, Rush)
    • Close Quarters; Fast-paced playlist on smaller maps (Domination, King of the Hill)
    • Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)
  • Day 2, Friday 15th

    • Conquest
    • Squad Deathmatch
    • Close Quarters; Fast-paced playlist on smaller maps (Domination, King of the Hill, Squad Deathmatch)
    • All-Out Warfare; Epic battles across expansive maps (Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush)
    • Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)
  • Day 3-4, Saturday 16th – Sunday 17th

    • Conquest
    • Close Quarters; Fast-paced playlist on smaller maps (Domination, King of the Hill, Squad Deathmatch).
    • All-Out Warfare; Epic battles across expansive maps (Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush)
    • Closed Weapons All-Out Warfare (Conquest, Breakthrough)

DICE will also introduce a new “Custom Search” option with Weekend 2. While this is not a server browser, it does allow players to pick which map and mode they want to queue up for in matchmaking.

DICE has also added “Initiation Mode” for those rank 15 and below. This lets players feel the game out against AI soldiers, and is tailored for new players to get their feet wet and learn the basics of each mode, class and other gameplay mechanics.

In other Battlefield 6 news, if you’ve played the first weekend of the beta and thought the maps were too small, DICE says that “scale is not everything,” which has a solid point. Will Weekend 2 of the Open Beta hit the highs we’ve seen in the first week? I wouldn’t be surprised if it did.

Battlefield 6’s Open Beta Weekend 2 will start on Thursday, August 14, at 1 am PT/4 am ET/08:00 UTC.
