PS Plus Adding Classic Resident Evils & Spider-Man In August 2025
Sony has revealed the new games coming to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium in August 2025, and they include a great selection of action games, survival horror, and RPGs, including some classic Resident Evil titles, and an amazing Spider-Man experience.
As PlayStation Plus is celebrating its 15th anniversary, Sony is pulling out all of the stops. The service recently shadow-dropped Cyberpunk 2077 onto the service, as well as throwing some amazing games on for Essential subscribers in August, including Lies of P.
The PlayStation Blog website has announced the new games that are coming out on August 19, 2025. There’s a fantastic selection of titles on offer, especially for those who love wooden voice acting in their survival horror games.
The PlayStation Extra subscribers will have access to the following games on August 19, 2025:
- Mortal Kombat 1 (PS5)
- Marvel’s Spider-Man (PS4/PS5)
- Sword of the Sea (PS5)
- Earth Defense Force 6 (PS4/PS5)
- Unicorn Overlord (PS4/PS5)
- Ateloer Ryza 3 Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key (PS4/PS5)
- Indika (PS5)
- Harold Halibut (PS5)
- Coral Island (PS5)
PlayStation Premium subscribers will gain access to all of the Extra games, as well as two more: Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, which are available to both PS4 and PS5 owners. These are the original PS1 versions of the game, not the modern remakes.
Additionally, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be available as a Game Trial for PlayStation Premium members. Those who download it will be able to play five hours of the game, and if they purchase it, they can continue their save file into the full version of the game.
August 2025 is a stacked month for PlayStation Plus subscribers, with a wide variety of genres available across its titles. There’s a little something for everyone here, especially when the Essential titles are factored in.
