Reloaded Codes To Loyal Fans

Summary

Gears of War: Reloaded, a remastered version of the original, is coming to PS5, Xbox, and PC on August 26.
Some Gears of War: Ultimate owners are receiving free codes for Reloaded, but not everyone is guaranteed one.
Reloaded offers 4K resolution, 120 FPS multiplayer, and free crossplay, preparing fans for Gears of War: E-Day.

While Gears of War is now headed to PlayStation platforms, it seems Microsoft hasn’t forgotten the Xbox fans who made the franchise one of the most important brands in the Xbox stable.

The upcoming Gears game is Gears of War: Reloaded, which is a remastered version of the original that was released back in 2006.

If you own or played Gears of War: Ultimate, you might want to check your email inbox (don’t forget the spam folder), as Microsoft has a treat for some of you.

Gears of War Players Reporting Getting Free GOW: Reloaded Codes From Xbox

On the GreatXboxDeals subreddit, users are reporting that Microsoft is sending Gears of War: Ultimate owners a free code for Gears of War: Reloaded. The reports are conflicting, with some stating that they only played the game on Game Pass, and yet they still got a code.

Others who said they own the game still haven’t gotten a code, so it’s not a guarantee that owning GOW: Ultimate will net you a Reloaded code. One person said they saw a comment on the Gears of War subreddit where a user who still hasn’t gotten a code reached out to Xbox support, and they were told codes were being sent out in batches per day.

One redditor with the username ichosenotyou shared they got their code on Xbox chat with the following message, “As a thank you for being a Gears fan, we’re offering owners of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (digital) a free code for Gears of War: Reloaded, playable on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Redeem on console or xbox.com/redeemcode, gather your squad, and get ready to crush the Locust on August 26th!”

Note that this is a code for the full game and not the beta.

Original Voice Actors Reprising Their Roles For Gears Of War: E-Day

We’re glad to hear the original voice actors for Markus Fenix and Dom Santiago are reprising their roles in Gear Of War: E-Day.

Gears of War: Reloaded is headed to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC this August 26, and will feature the following improvements:

4K resolution
60 FPS in Campaign
120 FPS in Multiplayer
High Dynamic Range (HDR)
Dolby Vision & 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos
7.1.4 3D Spatial Audio
Variable Refresh Rate (VRR)
4K assets and remastered textures
Enhanced post-processing visual effects
Improved shadows and reflections
Super resolution with improved anti-aliasing
Zero loading screens during the Campaign

It will offer full crossplay and even its multiplayer will be making a return too. This might be the perfect time to jump in before the latest proper sequel, Gears of War: E-Day, is released in the future, which we’re presuming is sometime in 2026.

If you owned the Ultimate edition of Gears of War, make sure to check your inbox or contact Xbox support! You’re essentially getting a free game for it.
